(Born: August 3, 1803 - Died: March 26, 1846)

American journalist and editor. He was born in Otisfield, ME (near Portland), to Peter Holden and Hannah Watts Brintnal. He died on March 26, 1846 according to chancer document, Holden vs M’Makin, 1847. See Philadelphia Saturday Courier, March 28, 1846, p. 2., cols. 2-3. He died in Washington, PA, and is buried in Laurel Hill, Philadelphia, PA. He was married on June 1, 1830, in Portland, ME, to Almria Webster Lincoln. (See Holden Genealogy, Ancestry and Descendants of Richard, Justinian and Randall Holden Vol. 1, by Eben Putnam, Boston, 1923, although it gives his death date as March 20, 1846, which appears to be incorrect.)
