(Born: ca. 1807 - Died: August 14, 1852)

American journalist, editor and statesman. He was editor of the Philadelphia Saturday Chronicle. In his later years he was a state senator. He was buried in Monument Cemetery, in Philadelphia, which is now defunct and much of which is often under water. The cause of his death was listed as softening of the brain.
