GRAHAM'S MAGAZINE FOR OCTOBER.

This beautiful monthly has been laid upon our table, and, to say the truth, is richer in its reading matter and illustrations than its predecessor. We have watched with a pleasing curiosity this periodical, from the humble Casket, with its 6 by 4 pages and its wood cuts, up to its union with the Gentleman's Magazine, and we have rejoiced in its unparalleled success. Its rich mezzotints, and its line engravings, are now equal, it not superior, to any periodical in the United States; and its main editor, Edgar A. Poe, Esq., a Richmond boy by adoption, is the severest critic, the best writer, and the most unassuming little fellow in the United States. Hampton has it for sale.
