THE WORKS OF THE LATE EDGAR ALLAN POE: with notices of his life and genius. By N. P. Willis, J. R. Lowell, and R. W. Griswold. In 2 vols. 12mo. New York: J. S. Redfield. 1850.
No American author had more admirers than the late Mr. Poe, and the task of preparing his various essays, poems and tales for the press, could not have fallen into better hands than those of the gentlemen named, who knew and appreciated him. It is useless for us to speak of Mr. Poe's writings, which have appeared in various forms in the public prints and magazines, and have been widely read in England as well as at home. The volumes before us contain all his works. They are handsomely printed, and contain an excellent portrait of the author.
They are for sale by Mr. Whitney, and Messrs. Gladding & Proud.
