6. POE'S MISCELLANEOUS WORKS. We have here, from the press of REDFIELD, a fourth and last volume of the writings of the late EDGAR A. POE, one of the most remarkable of the literary men whom this country has produced. This contains the fictitious narrative of “ARTHUR GORDON PYM,” and a variety of magazine miscellanies. All writings are marked by the well known characteristics of the author, — the grotesque, the fantastique, the weird, wild, eccentric, spasmodic, sad, savage, and ridiculous. It is vastly unequal; but when were writings of a Magazinist otherwise? Of course, no one who has read the author's previous writings, will fast of this.
