Notes:

After the publication of Quinn's biography of Poe, a few earlier letters outside of the correspondence with John Allan were discovered. Indeed, the two letters written to Governor & Council of Virginia (November 17, 1824) and Peter V. Daniels (November 23, 1824) even pre-date all of the surviving letters Poe wrote to John Allan.
