BANCROFT THE HISTORIAN AND HIS IMPUGNERS. — A very clear and conclusive justification of Mr. BANCROFT, as to the two serious charges recently made against his literary and political honesty, has appeared in the columns of his political opponent — the Boston Courier. The article takes up nearly two columns, and is too long to quote; but the proof that he did not “use, as his own, another man's manuscript,” and that he did not “alter his views of a historical fact in his second edition, to suit a political purpose,” is entirely conclusive.
