Poe Cartoon

Numerous cartoons featuring Poe exist, usually playing on his poem “The Raven” and most commonly with a punchline based on the famous refrain of “Nevermore.” The caption of this 1980s cartoon, from The New Yorker Magazine, reads: “Edgar Allan Poe Returns a Christmas Gift.” The balloon has Poe saying, “He only knows one word.”
