The Works of Edgar A. Poe. Volume IV. New York: Redfield.

This edition of Poe's works is accompanied by a memoir, by Rufus W. Griswold, and notices of his life and genius, by N. P. Willis and J. R. Lowell. This volume, which finishes the series, contains the narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym, and various humorous tales. The nautical story of Arthur Gordon Pym, was written at an early period of the author's literary career, and is the only protracted narrative that he ever produced. The strange and marvellous incidents of the tale are woven together with such art, that the reader is scarcely able to realize that the improbable adventures he peruses are a work of fiction, and not true and veritable occurrences.

The humorous tales which follow, conclude this edition of Poe's works, and do not form the least interesting part of his productions.
