VITA

James B. Reece was born, on September 25, 1919, In Carter County, Tennessee. He attended. Milligan College (1941-1942), Appalachian State Teachers’ College (1942-1943), and The Johns Hopkins University (1943-1945), where he received the A. B. degree. In 1946-1947 he taught English at King's Creek High School, Caldwell County, North Carolina. From 1947 until 1952 he was enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Duke University, where he received the M. A. degree in 1949. During this period he held graduate assistantships for two years and for a year held a research assistantship. During part of this period also he was a part-time instructor in English. He is now Assistant Professor of English at the College of William and Mary — Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Norfolk, Virginia.

He has written the following articles:
