Theodorick Bland

Theodorick Bland

(Born: December 6, 1776 – Died: November 16, 1846)

American lawyer, Maryland State Delegate, and federal judge for the state of Maryland. He was born in Dinwiddie County, VA, the son of Colonel Theodorick Bland (1741-1790) and Sarah Fitzhugh (1748–1793). Around 1800, he moved to Baltimore city. He bought a large estate called La Grange in Howard County about 1828, and renamed it Blandair, the name by which it is still known today. He died at his home in Annapolis, from unspecified heart disease.
