(Born: April 1, 1830 - Died: June 28, 1913)

She was born in Westford, Mass., the daughter of Lydia Buck and Amos Heywood. She became the second wife of Charles Perkins (1830-1896), marrying him on June 1, 1887. She had no children. She died in Beverly, Mass. Her manuscript “Recollections of a Poet” is part of the Poe collection at the Humanities Research Center, University of Texas at Austin. Her older sister, Nancy Locke Heywood, was Poe’s Annie Richmond.
