Mrs. Jane Ermina Locke

(Born: April 25, 1805 - Died: March 8, 1859)

Minor American author and poet. Jane Ermina Startweather was born in Worthington, MA, as the last of ten children.  Her parents were Deborah Brown and Charles Startweather. Her father was a deacon. She married John Goodwin Locke in 1829, and moved to New York City. She had seven children, three of whom died in infancy and only one lived to adulthood.
