Mrs. Rebecca S. Nichols

(Born: 1819 - Died: 1903)

American editor and poet. She was born in Greenwich, NJ. When she was a child, her family moved to Kentucky. She married William Nichols in 1838, and moved to St. Louis, KY in 1839. In 1841, they moved to Cincinnati, OH. She had seven children, all but two of whom died in infancy. Her early poems were published under the pseudonym of “Ellen.” She also used the name “Kate Cleveland.”
