(Born: November 14, 1778 - Died: July 21, 1864)

American businessman. He was a banker in Mobile, AL about 1836. He was the grandson of John Poe (Edgar Poe’s great-grandfather) and a first cousin of Maria Poe Clemm. His parents were George and Catherine Poe. He married Maria Potts on December 29, 1808. (She died on November 2, 1823, in Pittsburgh, PA.) He married Emma Marie Toulmin on April 4, 1827. He is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, in Washington, DC (North Hill, Lot 152).
