Andrew Reed (Born: November 27, 1787 - Died: February 25, 1862)

James Matheson (Born: 1766? - Died: 1840)

Reed was an English Congregationalist minister, social reformer, hymn writer, and author. He is buried in Abbey Park Cemetery, in London. Matheson was also an English Congregationalist minister. He married a Miss Ewing, of Scotland. Although his birth date has been listed as 1766, and the date of his christening as September 16, 1766, the year seems unlikely. (A date of 1786 would be more reasonable, as he married the daughter of Grenville Ewing, who was himself born in 1767. The name is surprisingly common, and he may have been conflated with the James Matheson who bears the dates 1766-1828.)
