(Born: February 13, 1794 - Died: May 25, 1878)

Born in Norfolk, VA. Attended Washington College. He is buried in the Buchanan Episcopal Cemetery, in Buchanan, VA. Valentine was the first cousin of Poe’s foster mother, Frances Valentine Allan, and the uncle of Susan Archer Talley (later Mrs. Weiss).
