John Wilson (Christopher North)

John Wilson (“Christopher North”)

(Born: May 18, 1785 - Died: April 3, 1854)

Scottish author, educator, editor and critic. He married Jane Penny in 1811. He was a professor of Moral Philosophy at Edinburgh University, beginning in 1820. He is perhaps best known for his long association with Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine.
