19. Mrs. Maria Clemm, late 1849

The 7 inch by 5 inch photograph of Mrs. Clemm was made by Warren of Boston and Cambridge, MA, presumably taken from the original daguerreotype. The portrait was sent by Mrs. Annie L. Richmond, to J. H. Ingram on October 3, 1876 (see Miller, Building Poe Biography, pp. 152-154 and Reilly, J. H. Ingram's Poe Collection, p. 102, item 478). Phillips (2:1564) states that the original was made in Lowell, MA.
20. Mrs. Virginia Poe, February 1847

The watercolor of Virginia was made by an unknown artist, and by tradition was painted after her death, as a memento mori (see Deas, The Portraits and Daguerreotypes of Edgar Allan Poe, pp. 168-170). The original remains in the possession of the Poe family.
